This week’s featured artist goes out to Somebody Houston!

Somebody Houston is a four-piece pop punk band from Birmingham, Alabama. Although the boys have yet to be signed, they are a talented group of individuals and I see them on their way to success in the near future.
The band’s members consist of Jason Richardson and Sky Bush on guitar and vocals, Evan Hawk on drums and Casey Tesmer on bass. Somebody Houston formed in late 2009 and released a self-titled EP, which is available for download on Bandcamp. Soon after, they released their debut full-length album, “Dreaming Dreams and Stitching Seams,” which is now available for download on iTunes and Amazon MP3!

Somebody Houston has had the amazing opportunity to perform local shows with bands such as Hit The Lights, The Story So Far, The Scene Aesthetic, He Is We, Carter Hulsey, Plug In Stereo, and Carridale.
What makes Somebody Houston such a unique band is that all four of them come from different musical backgrounds, yet they have the same goals and creative passions, which allows them to form such a fitting group with a distinctive sound and sole lyrics. Their EP and album’s particular sound is a mix between an alternative, post-rock with a pop-punk hook… sounds interesting to me!
If you are a fan of bands such as Blink-182, All Time Low, Mayday Parade, and Angels & Airwaves, you will definitely develop a liking for Somebody Houston, who draws influences from these bands. So if you are, I would highly suggest checking them out if you haven’t already!
